Go London – On track

Railroad cafe in Hackney London. It’s the perfect place to get some work done amidst the madness of daily London life, but not bad for socializing either.
Go Paris – Le Progres bar

Le Progres bar in Paris is a great place to have a drink after a long day. It’s a fun and lively bar, serves a nice bite to eat and is convenient for everyone in the fashion industry as it’s located in the middle of all the showrooms and offices. Even better, it comes minus the pretention.

Whatser
Michiel Verberg – Founder@Whatser:
How do they balance?
The dining table, which used to merely carry tableware, a bottle of wine and candlelight, is now often accompanied by at least two “desktop computers” connected to the internet. They enable us to be social, connected and in the know, even when we are out and about. Although conversations are triggered by offline events, more and more, the actual conversation happens online.
Where should I go for holiday this summer? Where should I have dinner? Decisions on where to go are more frequently driven by the amount of conversation expected to be generated from you choice online rather than by finding the best match of a place to be and how you actually feel. How do you balance your online and offline life?
The application we have developed enables you to tap into the collective brain of places, called Whatser. Spotify created a collective brain for music. What Whatser has in common is the core belief that technology should support your daily social life; it should not dominate it. Knowledge is most efficiently shared online, but conversations resonate best offline.
Go Stockholm – Muggen

This cafe brings healthy good food and street life together. With a small terrace you’re able to check the street-style catwalk while having lunch, or cocoon inside with a newspaper and good cup of coffee. Unwind, preferably offline, and notice what happens around you. Don’t be afraid, it might just be that an unknown somebody starts talking to you. Very common in Sweden, to chitchat when you’re in the same bar!

SocietyM

SocietyM is made for those who aren’t bound by offices or office conventions, wanderers doing business wherever the connectivity’s good and the coffee fresh. Seekers after free WiFi, designer meeting spaces, and big Chesterfield couches. Come present, innovate, shift some paradigms or read the paper. -
West

Situated in the heart of Glasgow as a landmark on Glasgow Green, the former carpet factory designed by Victorian architect Edward Leiper was modeled on Doge’s Palace in Venice – making it the perfect home for Scotland’s most unique and popular brewery, bar and restaurant.
WEST is passionate about its award-winning Bavarian-style lager, and its guided tours give not only a real glimpse of how the magic happens, but also a true flavor of the award-winning beers.
WEST combines tradition by fusing the tradition and techniques of the great traditional German breweries with cutting-edge technologies and Scottish ingenuity. -
Stereo

Stereo may be hidden down Renfield Lane, but it’s a stone’s throw from Glasgow’s Central Station. A vegetarian eatery, this cafe/bar has some of the best home-made veggie food in the city. Despite the fact that it’s a tourist’s dream (its building was designed by Charles Rennie MacIntosh), it’s only known to the locals. -
GmbH bookshop

GmbH bookshop in the Lighthouse Gallery is the only place in Glasgow to get a range of quality books and periodicals. A calling ground for the interesting people of Glasgow on Sunday afternoons.

Go Edinburgh – Fringe festival

This summer, the former veterinary school of Edinburgh University was converted into a venue for the Fringe Festival. It showcased an incredible tribute to Alexander McQueen. The main dissection room is still full of models and diagrams and has a huge glass roof. Recommended to be seen, even just for a flying visit.
Go Amsterdam – Anna

Nobody thought it was possible to find class in the Red-Light District. Situated in one of the oldest buildings, that is exactly what Anna brings: classy cuisine.
Foursquare

Why should you use location-based services? Is it ‘social’ to keep track of your friends all the time? The answer is: yes! You can explore new places and discover the constantly changing ‘must be seen there’-places, but also meet new people.
Foursquare helps you explore the world around you. Meet up with friends, discover new places and save money using your phone. Whether you’re setting off on a trip around the world, coordinating a night out with friends, or trying to pick the best dish at your local restaurant, Foursquare is the perfect companion.
Social Travelling

We don’t travel the same way since social media. With new features like AirBnB, TripIt and Foursquare, we don’t read travel guides to check where our next trip should be to. We are going to places others recommend, which have proven themselves to be good. More help for perfect social travelling is on it’s way: Gidsy launches soon with personalized tours!
Gidsy is opening up in NYC and Berlin.
