Rough estimates are that the total loss due to theft worldwide exceeds the 100 billion dollar mark. One of the biggest reasons for this staggering amount is that modern hotels seem to focus more and more on luxury. As a result, the value of the amenities also increases. Some hotels have turned this phenomenon into something positive, like marking all items with funny quotes like: “honestly stolen from…” Or even better, their most stolen items are offered in their gift shops at prices you can’t refuse!
